Final samples

The arrangement of my final samples, all of which I am overall quite pleased with.

Fabric prints

For one of my final samples I want to have just s fabric sample, for which I will use pigmant dye to print on to paper. I chose to use natural colours for these two designs to continue with my tree theme, and I think I shall explore cutting shapes out of one, and leaving the other just as a piece of fabric.

Composition

For one of my final samples I plan on layering up different sized cut out patterns of trees from paper, so here I tried experimenting seeing in which order the layers work best.

Laser cutter

The laser cutter is definitely my new favourite thing! After using illustrator to trace your design, it's easy to transfer the image over to the laser cutting software which does all the hard work for you. I like how intricate the patterns can be, and so I tried cutting out various tree patterns from paper, and engraving them onto wood which produced really interesting effects.
