I then cut out my designs from the printed fabrics. I chose to use blue as I thought this would create a bit of a difference to the stereotypical black and yellow bee colour scheme, and so creates a fresher feel which I am happy with.

Printing

I explored with both disperse papers and screen printing to create the background which my bee pattern will be cut out of. Although i initially just though I would use laser cut disperse papers, I quite light the contrast of the bright screen printed fabric, and so may use both in my final pieces.

I then explored cutting out my designed patterns out of fabric and paper. I was pleased to find silk cuts out almost as well as paper, and so I shall use silk in my final designs which I want to be fabric based.
